The very first project of the Rust Redemption Project. The Detour T is being built to raise funds to help Chris Walker as he battles Sarcoma Cancer.
Well, now that the cats out of the bag, I can finally post these. At the Rusty Eyeball this year the idea had gotten brought up of building a car to raise money to help Chris walker in his journey of battling cancer… after looking over all the car body’s I had laying around we landed on this 27T.
In the following 2 short weeks Brad Anderson and I drove all over Minnesota collecting parts people so graciously donated to the cause and figuring out a game plan on how to get this bare body transformed into a radical rolling car by Scotty’s car show. After four really late nights. A bunch of frozen pizzas and a coffee machine running around the clock we some how rolled it onto the trailer at 1am the morning of the show.
This is just the beginning of this car. It’s going to be going through a lot of wild and radical changes in the following days from a great group of people. There are so many people hopping in to help with this build such as Jason Walker, Jeremy Weckman, Jeremy Jereczek, Travis Nord, Jesse Asher, Simon Havican, Corey Anderson, Joe Lindstrom
We truly couldn’t do it without all these guys that being said this car is being built, purely with donated parts. If this is something you’d like to be a part of please message one of us and ask how you may help whether it’s time parts or resources would love to get you involved for this great cause in the following days will be making a Facebook page for the “detour T” and posting a wish list of parts if you feel so inclined to support the build.
